Does the moment have a history, does it come out of nowhere, is it part of a plan?
The question of the freedom of improvi-sation is like the old question of the freedom of the human will.
It cannot be proven. But you can feel the freedom, everyone can.
It is the freedom with which we are con-fronted anew every day -
when we make decisions or observe how others do it.
Just like the photographer Heiko Specht. He asked musicians to improvise for him, captured the moment with his camera
and reconstructs the situation in
his exhibition.
The audience sees what the photographer has seen, and hears
what he heard.
